Feeling Lucky: Emerald and Ivory St. Regis Wedding

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! We have been seeing green around Atlanta these past few days—and not only from the hoards of St. Patrick’s Day partiers walking the streets of Buckhead this weekend. In just a few days it will mark my very favorite time of year…Spring! With Spring comes lush greens sprouting up from the ground and my favorite white cherry blossom trees are beginning to bloom. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I thought I would share a post that is very near and dear to me because I truly am lucky to have worked with such a beautiful bride to create such a unique invitation.

This was the perfect example of a bride who was searching for someone to create an invitation using the lace from her Vera Wang gown. As she searched, she kept coming across the same thing—people were using clipart lace and not her lace. I absolutely jumped at the challenge, and a few days later, I received my lace patterns from Vera Wang, packaged beautifully in all white. It certainly was a challenge; looking at the picture of her veil, I didn’t see that pattern on any of the lace patterns she sent. After hours of studying, I realized it was Vera’s own custom pattern! She had cut up all these different lace patterns to create her own…so that’s just what I did, too! Read on to see pictures of this laser cut lace invitation I designed as well as pictures from her stunning emerald and ivory St. Regis wedding designed by Tony Conway of A Legendary Event.

I also designed a monogram and crest for the couple that symbolized them—both who they were as a couple and where they came from. This crest was the wow-piece that was foil stamped in gold on the inside of the custom box envelope. The gold on emerald was so striking and unexpected!

On their invitation, we embossed their monogram and names in gold foil and paired it with a warm platinum to set the tone for the wedding, which was going to have a mixture of the two metallics. We then edged their quadruple-thick invitation and reply cards in gold for an extra pop.
