Vintage Monogram & Floral Invitation Suite

This past Spring, I had the incredible opportunity to work with Brian James Davis and The Atlantan Brides Modern Luxury to create a chic invitation suite for their Afternoon of Bridal Luxury. Named one of “Atlanta’s Most Dapper Males” and a true Southern Gent, Brian James Davis is a landscape designer and florist who loves mixing old with new…rough with refined.

And that’s exactly what he did with this display! Brian chose a color palette of brown, ivory, and dove grey, and then used bright orange and blush as accents. He created a whimsical, yet modern space by combining vintage-inspired furniture and Mint Julep cups with dove accents and a modern pop of orange. He even makes brown crushed velvet look chic!

For the invitations, menus, and table number card, I wanted to use his florals as a major influence in the design. So, I created a vintage floral monogram for the invitation, which was housed in a metallic pocket fold bearing the custom crest, adorned with florals and a vintage frame, on the front cover. I chose a more neutral palette of dove grey, chocolate brown, pale pink, and antique gold so that the bright pop of orange in the florals would be the true wow factor!

Since florals are some of my biggest design inspirations, I had such a blast working with Brian James Davis on this vintage floral monogram invitation suite. If you’re in the process of designing your wedding invitations, take a cue from your florals. Ask your floral designer what specific flowers they plan on using, and have your stationer incorporate them into your invitations for a hint of what’s to come!
