Real Wedding: Jamie & Jayson

Every bride is different. With each consultation, I get the privilege of meeting another young lady who is just beginning one of the most exciting stages of her life. And I relish every minute of it.

Occasionally, I will have brides come in with absolutely no direction…not even sure what color palette they’re going to use! But every so often, I’ll meet with a bride who has really done her homework. I’m talking from the ceremony flowers right down to the bridesmaid shoes. Either way, I always start from the very beginning.

My first consultation with Jamie was a designer’s dream. She came prepared with inspiration boards, color palettes, and written notes for her ideal invitation design. Being a brand specialist herself, Jamie understood the necessity of a cohesive design and wanted her invitation suite to portray her and her fiancé’s personal style. As we talked, I heard a desire for a very modern design with a traditional and tailored look.

For this suite, I drew inspiration from their venue, The King Plow Arts Center, which boasts high ceilings, large windows, heavy steel beams, and traditional, yet contemporary, spaces. For their design, I was influenced by silent films of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, when King Plow was constructed. I incorporated flourishes and designed a traditional, custom monogram for the classic look and paired it with type on an angle and a striking black-on-black envelope to give it a modern edge.

I couldn’t be happier with the outcome, and the look on Jamie’s face when she saw the final piece was an absolute gift in itself. Check out Jamie and Jayson’s invitations, and find more images from their modern Midtown Atlanta Wedding below.

What it’s Like to Work with ECRU Stationery & Design   Working with Jessica at Ecru Stationery was an absolute dream. From the first day that we met, she perfectly captured our vision and helped us turn our thoughts (oftentimes scattered!) into a beautiful reality. We loved getting early sketches, which helped us envision not only our invitation suite, but the look and feel of our entire wedding. When my fiance and I received the first draft of our invitation designs, we were ecstatic to see how Jessica had taken all of our feedback and turned it into the perfect custom suite that would set the exact right tone for our whole day.

From beginning to end, Jessica made everything come to life in the most perfect of ways, not only delivering what we hoped, but going above and beyond with service, professionalism, speed, and flexibility. We received countless compliments on our save-the-dates, invitations, and ceremony programs, and I have Jessica alone to thank!

Special Delivery: Baby Ready-to-Order Has Arrived!

I have been a busy bee lately. The past few weeks, I have been sorting through archives of past work, organizing, and compiling designs for my ready-to-order line. Today, I am filled with feverish excitement to announce that the SHOP ECRU feature on ECRU Stationery & Design is now up and running! This week, I launched an entire collection of Baby Shower Invitations with Matching Thank-You Cards and Personalized Stationery, Baptism and Christening Invitations, in addition to the Children’s Fine Art Prints that I posted about a few weeks ago. Birth Announcements will be coming shortly, and can I tell you how stinkin’ cute they are!

Offering a ready-to-order line is something I’ve had planned for ECRU since day one. Till now, it’s been a note jotted on paper or a sketch here and there. I understand that couture isn’t for everyone, but that doesn’t mean that good, quality design shouldn’t be offered to the masses.

With an ECRU Stationery & Design ready-to-order, you’re getting original designs that can be customized to suit your individual needs. Change up the colors and fonts for an instant restyling, or build an entire invitation suite with upgrades, like our corresponding envelope liners, printed envelopes, and thank-you notes.

Here are a few of my favs below. Enjoy!

All ready-to-order styles can be customized to fit your needs. To place an order and for further customization information, i.e. addressing options, envelope liners, printed invitation backs, corner rounding, etc.,

Customizing with Color

Have you ever scoured the stores for the perfect shoe to go with that little cocktail dress you just bought for a party…only to find the perfect style in all the wrong colors? Well, when it comes to your invitation, we here at ECRU Stationery & Design want to ensure that you never have to face that frustration. That’s why we offer every shade under the sun, allowing you to select your perfect palette.

Having trouble picking your perfect palette? No worries. As experts on color, we can compile a sophisticated selection for you based on your favorite lipstick or the drapes in your living room! Best of all, you can often order your invitations in one ink color instead of two, helping you save on cost. If you’re still dying for that extra shade but can’t afford a second ink color, consider utilizing a colored paper or envelope to instantly enhance your invitation suite and take it to the next level.

Read on to see how this Classic Monogram Invitation was transformed using Pantone’s Fall 2012 Color Forecast as inspiration.

With Autumn just around the corner, I wanted to compile a handy list of Pantone’s Fashion Color Trends for Fall 2012. With an incredible mix of versatile neutrals and bold, vibrant hues, this palette is perfectly balanced to pull you through the cooler months ahead. Bright Chartreuse might be my favorite hue for Fall as it is the perfect accent color for just about every shade in the bunch. I’m especially loving it with Titanium for the transition months and with Pink Flambé for a colorblock effect.

Below, see how I used shades from Pantone’s Fall 2012 Color Trends to customize this Classic Monogram invitation. Each one has its own personality…don’t you think?
